Are Augmented Reality headsets the final piece the construction industry needed to reuse information all the way through the design, planning, construction and handover phases? In this session Anders Lundgren from Information Experience shared insights from a pilot project using HoloLens together with Skanska at the construction site of European Spallation Source (ESS) site in Lund, Sweden.
On September 28th, IX joined an event by Xelent Östersund, to present our Augmented Reality construction applications for the HoloLens. At the event, the Microsoft representative demonstrated new laptops, Office 365, and also made the announcement that HoloLens will be made available to Swedish customers during 2018. At the Information Experience booth, visitors were given the opportunity to try out Microsoft HoloLens. We also showcased a couple of our demos related to current projects. As always, we got a lot of positive response and feedback on the experiences that can be created around HoloLens. We are looking forward to developing more experiences for future events - and would very much like to get in touch if you'd like to learn more about the process of creating information experiences!

As opposed to existing applications and platforms for augmented reality, where models "float" freely in space, our platform makes it possible to locate and position the 3D models on top of the real world with high precision, and also update information…
